Indoor golf — is it as fun as it sounds?

indoor golfEvery time I hear about some newfangled game or other thing that kids are participating in, I get so jealous — “We didn’t have that when I was growing up!” (I remember that my elementary school got brand-new playground equipment the year after I moved on to middle school!) I hardly had to walk uphill both ways and play with sticks and rocks, but you know how it goes.

Now, another thing for me to be jealous of — indoor golf! Now, to be fair, I’ve never liked golf much anyway. Yeah, yeah, I enjoyed doing the occasional putt-putt outings with my friends when we were in high school and looking for “cool” things to do. But as far as actually walking 18 holes and chasing a bunch of balls? No, thanks.

But… indoor golf! It even sounds fun, especially when the weather’s been as hot as it is lately. No boring walking around a green, no getting sunburned or soaked in sweat, no risk of getting hit in the head with someone else’s ball…. Sign me up! And, that’s what people are doing, at Golf 365 in Noblesville.

Maybe the reason I don’t like golf that much is because I never really learned how to play. I’m pretty golf-savvy, as it is, but that’s just because my dad had golf on pretty much 24/7 growing up.  I was pretty golfed-out before I ever really had the chance to learn. So, I guess there’s still hope.

Just point me in the direction of something as fun as indoor golf! Tell us in the comments below — have you tried it? What did you like, and what didn’t you like?

This is a great opportunity for kids to deal with some sport. It may be indoor golf, but it will surely lead them to a real golf course. The next Tiger Woods may appear after a few years of playing indoor golf.
