A new Italian restaurant? Per favore

donatello's italian restaurantI’m guilty of taking forever to order at a restaurant. Italian restaurants are the worst — because everything sounds so darn good.

What makes my dinner companions maddest is I usually end up ordering the same thing every time, anyway — a caprese salad (tomatoes and cheese, hello), maybe an antipasta platter to share (I get all the artichokes and my husband eats all the olives, and we fight over the prosciutto) and either a seafood pasta dish or chicken marsala, depending on what I’m in the mood for.

Well, wouldn’t you know — all of my favorites are on the menu at Donatello’s Italian Restaurant, a new eatery in Carmel. Open for lunch and dinner, and serving up classic Italian food cooked by an experienced chef, it’s open Monday through Saturday.

If you’re in the mood for a light lunch, the restaurant offers a soup and salad combo, and several sandwiches; pasta dishes are also served for lunch if you’re hungrier. And don’t forget dessert — the restaurant offers a special every day.

Is your mouth watering yet? Check out their website for more information, such as directions and the full menu. Mangia!

Mushroom, gravy, and meat… Man, it made me as hungry as ever!

Yes, everything sounds and looks so good, that you’ll take forever to order one. But to make it easier for you, it could be better to ask for the waiter for what they could recommend, or take a look at cook shows for ideas.
